Word Usage

Davis: What does "bored" mean?

Me: You don't have anything to do and feel the need to be entertained.

Davis: But I do have stuff to do, and I don't feel the need to be entertained.

Me: Good, then you're not bored.

Disclaimer: Isaac says he is bored, especially lately. I'm trying to break him of it, I rarely use the word, and don't like the boys claiming to be bored, which is probably why Davis didn't know what it meant, it's not a common word in our home. I just looked "bored" up on Dictionary.com and this is part of what I found:

bore 2
vb
1.( tr ) to tire or make weary by being dull, repetitious, oruninteresting
n
2.a dull, repetitious, or uninteresting person, activity, or state

Maybe I can break him of it if I show him that. I'll keep you posted.
